Child Safety Standards
1. Our standards
The following are strictly prohibited on Buddy, in reels, photos, stories, comments, voice comments, messages, profiles and any other part of the Service:
- Any child sexual abuse material, including AI-generated, drawn or altered imagery.
- Sexualising minors, including sexual comments about minors or sexualised depictions of them.
- Grooming — building a relationship with a minor for sexual purposes, including asking minors for images, to move to private channels, or to meet.
- Sextortion, or threatening to share intimate images of anyone.
- Trafficking, or advertising or soliciting minors for sexual purposes.
- Sharing links to, or instructions for finding, any of the above.
2. How we prevent harm
- Age requirement: users must be 13 or older (or the higher local minimum). Accounts we believe belong to under-13s are removed.
- Control over contact: people can only chat after a Buddy request is accepted; users can restrict who may message them or send requests, and block anyone instantly.
- Detection: we use automated tools together with human review to detect and remove violating content and suspicious behaviour.
- Enforcement: violating content is removed and accounts are permanently banned. We preserve relevant information as required to support investigations.
3. Reporting
In the app
Tap ⋯ → Report on any reel, story, comment, profile or message and choose "Child safety". Reports are prioritised for review.
By email
Email contact@dreamithq.com with the subject "Child safety report" and include the username or link. Please do not attach or forward abusive images.
To authorities
We report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate with law enforcement and relevant regional authorities. If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police first. You can also report to NCMEC CyberTipline or the INHOPE hotline in your country.
4. Compliance
Buddy complies with applicable child safety laws in the countries where it is available, and with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy.
5. Child safety contact
Our designated point of contact for child safety and CSAM matters can be reached at contact@dreamithq.com. This contact can speak to our CSAM prevention practices and compliance.
